Vernetra Gavin

Vernetra Gavin, licensed in both California and Texas, has both litigation and transactional law experience. Vernetra’s practice areas include entertainment, intellectual property, municipal, real estate, and criminal law. She is passionate about advocating and obtaining clients desired outcomes during contract negotiations. Outside of her legal experience, Vernetra has over 20 years in the entertainment industry. She is well versed in film production and scriptwriting. She has also studied entertainment in New York and London, England.

Vernetra is a native of Jackson, MS. She received her Juris Doctor from Thurgood Marshall School of Law (magna cum laude), her Master’s Degree in Cross Cultural Studies from National University (summa cum laude/distinction), and her Bachelor’s Degree from Jackson State University (magna cum laude). Vernetra has received recognition for her involvement in the legal community, and was an Order of the Barrister recipient. In her spare time, she enjoys working with her sorority, Alpha Kappa Alpha, Sorority, Inc. and the Intellectual property and Entertainment law sections in Texas and California.
